ROCKAWAY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Sept. 19, 2005--Party City Corporation, (Nasdaq: PCTY), America`s largest party goods retail chain, has opened 15 temporary Halloween stores under the name ''Halloween Costume Warehouse.''    (www.halloweencostumewarehouse.com) The stores are open now through early November at select locations around the country. As part of the stores` launch, Party City Corporation is partnering with Lions Gate Films in a sweepstakes to promote the highly anticipated horror film, SAW II, which will be released nationwide on October 28, 2005.

''The Halloween Costume Warehouse provides customers with a shopping experience that is totally Halloween,'' says Lisa Laube, Party City`s Chief Merchandising Officer. ''Our new concept offers great value and features a broad assortment of ghoulish costumes, spine-chilling decorations and haunting accessories. Halloween Costume Warehouse will be a great place to shop for the large numbers of teens and young adults who traditionally celebrate Halloween as a major event.''

Halloween Costume Warehouse represents Party City`s first venture into the temporary holiday store category. The new stores are primarily in markets not served by one of Party City`s nearly 500 existing locations. Of the 15 temporary stores, 10 are owned and operated by Party City and five are owned and run by existing franchisees.
