This is National Sleep Awareness Week, a fact that will probably be missed the most by those who need more sleep.  According to a recent British Airways survey, business travelers are simply not getting enough sleep.  One in four admit to falling asleep in a meeting due to lack of sleep, and 70 percent felt they were less productive after traveling.  Nearly one in five had a presentation go badly or lost business as a result of poor sleep due to air travel.  Robin Hayes, from British Airways:

Our goal is to ensure our business class passengers get the most sleep possible during flight so they arrive refreshed, alert and ready for business.  As a result of recent improvements to our flat beds in business class, 40 percent of British Airways passengers are now getting an extra 100 minutes of sleep.

The average business traveler only gets six-point-four hours of sleep a night which is below the National Sleep Foundations recommendation of seven to nine hours a night.  For more information on British Airways Club World Service, log on to, w-w-w-dot-britishairways-dot-com.
