New Relationship to Facilitate Delivery of Value-Based Information to Higher Education Administrators, Faculty and Students

WESTMONT, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Jul 9, 2001--Chicago-based Sysix Technologies, LLC, a national provider of technology solutions for eBusiness and enterprise applications, and one of the founding members of the Solutions Consortium, announced today it has been named a national single-point solutions provider for Datatel, Inc. Under the terms of the agreement, Sysix will supply key IT solutions and hardware platforms for Datatel solutions.

Founded in 1968, Datatel is a leading provider of information management solutions for higher education. Today, the company has nearly 600 Client institutions in North America. Datatel is recognized as one the few IT firms repeatedly assigned to Gartner`s ''Magic Quadrant'' -- the highest rating available to major integrated information-management solution providers in the U.S. Datatel is also a recipient of the U.S. Senate sponsored SPQA Medallion of Excellence.

Sysix is an award-winning provider of mission-critical eBusiness and IT initiatives via a unique ''bundled'' model, which includes infrastructure selection, consulting services and financing. The company maintains premier alliance relationships with Hewlett-Packard, EMC, Cisco and others.

According to Sysix CEO and president John Sheaffer, the new relationship with Datatel will facilitate the use of technology to deliver value-based information and data to administrators, faculty and students within college and university markets. ''Datatel has been a leader in the higher education market for more than 20 years, developing its recognized brands by providing advanced technology for enrollment management, student services, financial management, human resources management, fundraising and instructional support. Sysix brings to the relationship a single-point source for hardware, software, consulting services and even financial options.''

''Forging a relationship with Sysix provides great benefits for our current and future Clients,'' said John Speer, Datatel vice president of Sales. ''After evaluating a number of solutions providers, we selected Sysix because of the firm`s proven strengths in delivering technology solutions, as well as its business methodologies. We are confident this new relationship will help further solidify Datatel`s position as the leader provider of advanced higher education information solutions across North America.''

Sysix Technologies, which completed a management-led buyout in January 2001, offers technology solutions for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Supply Chain Management (SCM), Business Intelligence (BI) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM), in addition to eBusiness. Sysix delivers its leveraged consulting solutions via the Solutions Consortium, a group of four companies acting together as one ''virtual'' organization. Financial solutions are provided through Sysix Financial, LLC, a new company focused on delivering ROI-based leasing services designed to make technology more affordable.
