Incoming American Bar Association President Dennis Archer, the former mayor of Detroit, and the first African American to head that organization, has released the results of a public opinion poll on race in America.  A majority of respondents believe that the nation has made progress eliminating discrimination in public schools in the 50 years since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in the case of Brown versus the Board of Education the controversial ruling that led to the de-segregation of public schools.  And Archer says hell use his year as president of the nations largest lawyers group to educate the public about that ruling:

Well I think its important for everyone, irrespective of color to appreciate what the past was so they can understand the future.  We all want to do is to put race behind us, meantime, we do need to use race as a factor to create a level playing field and to get more young people in colleges and universities; get them educated so we can have a diverse workforce and a better America.
