From Collegiate Presswire's RadioWire (https://www.cpwire.com/radio): Radio With the conflict with Iraq reportedly coming to an end and the U.S. economy up 2.4 percent, economic confidence about current and future business activities among African American CEOs reversed from a declining trend and increased to a positive range for the first time in over a year. On a scale of one hundred, the ING Gazelle Index rose to 52.8, in the second quarter of 2003, up from 37.9 in the first quarter. Allan Baker, Senior Vice President from ING: �It�s refreshing to know that for the first time in over a year, economic confidence amongst African American CEOs is positive and that despite current unemployment rates, hiring plans continue to remain on the rise.� In addition to the rise in economic confidence, 48 percent of Gazelle�s CEOs anticipate increasing hiring a continuation of a trend that emerged in the first quarter of 2003.
