Women now have more options in the fight against breast cancer. Data from two pivotal clinical trials presented at the worlds largest breast cancer meeting in San Antonio support the use of the breast cancer drug Faslodex as an effective alternative to older treatments for postmenaopausal women with advanced breast cancer. Doctor John Pippen, at the Baylor-Sammons Cancer Center in Dallas, and a lead trial investigator:

"Basically, we wanted to know if the new drug Faslodex was a reasonable option in women who had their tumors grow while they were taking Tamoxifen and it turns out that it looks like the Faslodex will help us in that setting. Looking at our data from the study, Faslodex is going to bring us another option for these women that are fighting breast cancer. And once again, preserving that quality of life in giving them another option is a very exciting thing."

Faslodex is the only F-D-A approved injectable hormonal therapy for advanced breast cancer.
