Each year, about seven-hundred-thousand people experience new or recurrent stroke. Patients with Atrial Fibrillation, or A-F, a type of irregular heart beat, are five times more likely to suffer a stroke than those without A-F A new survey shows that more than 80 percent of one thousand people polled were not aware that A-F is a major risk factor for stroke. A new educational resource has been developed to help raise awareness of this condition and medications that may help decrease the risk of strokes associated with A-F.
