Digital television ranks high as a family gift this season.  Jack Wayman from the Consumer Electronics Association explains:

�The best digital television is high definition with pictures five times sharper than those on present sets.  The digital signals can be received by an indoor or outdoor antenna or via a satellite dish or a cable system.  Wide screen H-D-T-V comes in direct view or rear projection models or on flat panel screens that you can hang on the wall.  Digital T-V picture tube set prices start under 750 dollars or projections sets 15 hundred dollars and the ultimate H-D-T-V flat screens about 35 hundred dollars.  Programming has increased dramatically, from the T-V networks as well as cable and satellite dish systems.  Every major sporting event is in high definition and there are even separate H-D-T-V channels showing the latest movies.�
