Survey Finds People Prefer to Give Rather Than Receive Gifts

That old saying still holds true � it�s better to give than receive.  That�s what a whopping 95 percent of Americans said in a recent MasterCard survey conducted by Harris Interactive.  The survey also found that 72 percent of people believe it�s important to find �the perfect gift� for those who matter most.  With the holidays right around the corner, personal gift consultant Andrea Greenspan, who shops for more than a thousand gifts annually, has some useful tips:

�For those on the quest for the perfect gifts, online shopping is key; that�s where you can find just about anything for anyone.  Be sure you shop at online merchants who use up-to-date security measures, such as MasterCard Securecode.�

Sites using Mastercard Securecode ask shoppers to enter a personal code.  Similar to using a pin at an A-T-M , this helps prevent unauthorized use of credit and debit cards.  It�s available at more than 22-thousand online merchants, such as Blue Nile, Comp U-S-A, Crutchfield, Office Max and Zales.
