BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Feb. 17, 2006--BostonWorks, Greater Boston's most comprehensive recruitment services provider, has teamed up with the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, the region's preeminent business association, to present Jobapalooza, the ultimate career event for college students. From job and internship opportunities with leading companies, to seminars on finding a job and beginning a career, Jobapalooza is designed to provide Greater Boston's college students with the tools and information necessary to land that first job and the opportunities to make it happen.

Jobapalooza will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at the State House in Boston. The event will run from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. in the Great Hall. Students are encouraged to pre-register for the event in advance at www.bostonworks.com/jobapalooza. Resumes are required for admission to the event.

"As the economy improves, employers are once again focusing recruiting efforts on entry level employees," said Jason Kissell, managing director of BostonWorks. "With more than 250,000 students in Greater Boston, the pool of job talent in Greater Boston is significant. Jobapalooza is designed to connect these students with some of Boston's best employers. We want to retain the best students in Greater Boston after graduation and add them to the local workforce."

More than 20 of Greater Boston's best employers will participate in Jobapalooza to interview students for career opportunities. Employers will include Ameriprise Financial, Anglo Irish Bank, Black Rock, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, EF Education, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Liberty Mutual Group, Meditech, Mellon Financial, Putnam Investments, RSA Security, VinFen Corporation and many others. A full listing of the companies attending and their job listings can be found at www.bostonworks.com/jobapalooza.

"Retaining talented students is vital to the competitiveness of our region," said Paul Guzzi, president and CEO of the Greater Boston Chamber. "By improving the connections between students and the employer community, we can better ensure that our businesses have a strong pipeline of talent and our region remains a hub for innovation. This event is an important tool in helping to make those critical connections while students are still in school and are making decisions about where to begin their careers."

In addition to the exhibiting employers, Jobapalooza will offer four seminars designed to provide students with tools and information helpful to their job search. Presented by local recruiters and career coaches, the seminars will include:

--  2 p.m. Dressing for Success

--  3 p.m. Resumes 101

--  4 p.m. Interviewing Do's and Don'ts
