Fire-ravaged Southern California will get additional relief thanks to the Allstate Foundation California Wildfire Relief Fund. Allstate donated one million dollars to establish the Fund. The California Community Foundation and the San Diego Foundation will manage the fund to aid local, grassroots non-profit organizations in rebuilding and recovery efforts in the five-county area. Jack Shakely, president of the California Community Foundation:
"The devastation and personal loss caused by these wildfires are at an unprecedented level here in Southern California. It's critical that we help people and communities to accelerate the all-important recovery period. The 'Allstate Foundation Wildfire Relief Fund' is designed to reach people and communities with unmet needs, especially those who were missed in the initial wave of disaster relief services."
Donations are earmarked for a number of needs from emergency shelter and restoration of community services to mental health care and assistance with home reconstruction resident permit processing. For more information visit w-w-w-dot-calfund-dot-o-r-g.
