After a decade of decline, sporting activities are on the rise, especially water activities according to a survey by Leisure Trends Group of Boulder, Colorado. More than 143 million Americans enjoy water sports, and that number is increasing. Baby Boomers are expected to flock to the ocean in the 21st century. Generation Xer's tend to prefer freshwater activities such as wakeboarding, kayaking and tubing. Tom Dammrich from the National Marine Manufactures Association says more Americans are finding that boating is rejuvenating:

"When I am out on the water, all the weight of daily stresses just disappears.  I get totally involved in driving the boat and enjoying the beauty of my surroundings and the world really does look different from the water and it gives me a whole new perspective on a lot of things."

Dammrich says the best place to get information about boating is at a boat show. To find a boat show in your area, go to w-w-w-dot-discoverboating-dot-com.
