"Rosie The Riveter" is being honored this Veterans' Day at a special ceremony at Rosie The Riveter National Park in Richmond, California. Ford Motor Company together with the National Park Service and National Park Foundation are launching a nationwide effort to collect stories and artifacts from living "Rosies" and the families of "Rosies" who joined the World War Two home front effort. The original Rosie, Rose Will Monroe, worked on the line at Ford's Willow Run aircraft factory and her spirit was captured and embodied in a stern-faced, muscle-flexing woman in the famous 'We Can Do It' war poster. Lisa Owens, multi-cultural marketing manager, from Ford Motor Company:
"We owe so much to the pioneering women who first braved the factory floor at Ford Motor Company, and to Rosie the Riveter, who has come to inspire female strength for her fellow World War II female workers and to women today."
