In 1903, two brothers, Orville and Wilbur Wright changed history with their first powered flight over the dunes at Kitty Hawk. As part of the commemorative aviation series brought to you by Microsoft flight simulator, famous aerobatic pilot Patty Wagstaff relives the nostalgia of the Ford Tri-Motor.

First built in 1929, the Ford Tri-Motor was among the first American manufactured airplanes built to support passenger service. The Tri-Motors had large and roomy cabins and were made entirely of metal, a revolutionary idea in the 1920s. Aerobatic pilot Patty wagstaff:

"Well, you have to remember that the Ford Tri-Motor was really the first widely used commercial airliner, so to speak, and before the Tri-Motor, most people were afraid to go fly."

Want to fly the historic Tri-Motor, but don't have your pilots license? Microsofts Flight Simulator 2004 offers virtual pilots the chance to climb into the cockpit of the Tri-Motor or 23 other aircraft:

"Microsoft really does an incredible job of modeling each plane so that you really feel that your experience is as real as it gets."
