A child in Foster Care dies, is found starving, or going through the garbage for food. These headlines result in public horror and outrage. Yet, for the more than half a million children in our Foster Care system, the confusion and fear they face every day remains invisible. Former Congressman, Bill Frenzel, Chair of the Pew Commission On Children In Foster Care, explains The Commissions mission:

"Foster Care protects abused and neglected children, but it's a far cry from the permanent family every child deserves. Too many children are spending too many years in foster care. We need to change financing and court policies so that children in Foster Care can return to their parents or be adopted. That's the goal of the Pew Commission, to ensure that every child in foster care gets a safe, permanent home."

The Commissions recommendations will look at financial and court oversight problems. For more information log onto to, pewfostercare-dot-org.
