Responding to consumer interest in lower carb products, Sara Lee Bakery Group has launched Sara Lee Delightful Breads. The new breads have fewer carbs and fewer calories without sacrificing taste. Each full-size slice has only nine grams of carbohydrates and 45 calories. Connie Vickman is Director of University Nutrition, Washington University in St. Louis:

"Many people are trying to lose weight this holiday season by cutting carbohydrates. What many of them dont know is that many low-carb products often have higher calories. The sensible way is to look for products that deliver on taste while at the same time meet nutritional needs. Consumers are more likely to stick to an eating plan that includes products that taste good."

Sara Lee says its Delightful Breads are preferred over the leading light brand.
