The popularity of online auctions has hit an all-time high with Web surfers flocking to auction sites to bid on everything from antiques to cars. Online purchases of collectibles are at a premium with fans spending considerable amounts of money for autographed memorabilia and limited-edition merchandise from their favorite artists. To give their Replay loyalty program members more access to these items, Musicland has created Showbidz where members can bid on exclusive, entertainment collectibles from a credible source while providing their vendors a unique new channel to showcase their products. Brian Miller, VP of Marketing for Musicland explains how Showbidz works.

"Replay members earn Showbidz bucks to bid on the more than 50 exclusive entertainment items offered each month. Some of the featured items this month include an autographed guitar from The Cure, limited-edition Shrek 2 pictures and a Love Actually DVD signed by Hugh Grant. Other items to be offered include concert tickets, backstage passes, one-of-a kind merchandise and artist meet-and-greet sessions."

Visit a local Sam Goody, Suncoast or Media Play store for more information on Replay and Showbidz.
