FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Apr 20, 2004--ExxonMobil today announced that it has extended its affiliation with Upromise Inc., the program that helps families save for college. Since July 2001, ExxonMobil has contributed more than $8 million towards college savings for customer purchases made at Exxon- or Mobil-branded service stations.

Customers purchasing gasoline from Exxon- and Mobil-branded stations will continue to receive a contribution of one cent per gallon if enrolled as a member of the Upromise service. All U.S. residents are eligible to enroll in this college savings program.

''We feel that ExxonMobil`s participation in Upromise is consistent with our historical support for education,'' said Hal Cramer, President, ExxonMobil Fuels Marketing. ''By continuing our affiliation, we`re pleased to be a part of helping our customers and their children save towards a college education and a better future. Our involvement with Upromise also rewards our most loyal customers and complements our other unique offerings such as Speedpass and On the Run convenience stores.''

Other leading brand name companies have joined the Upromise network to help families save for college, including America Online, Citi(R) , Coca-Cola(R), and McDonald`s(R) along with more than 18,000 drug and grocery stores, 9,000 restaurants and 7,000 hotels locations nationwide.

''Upromise provides a unique and easy opportunity for families to invest in their children`s education,'' said George Bell, CEO of Upromise. ''Every gasoline purchase from an Exxon or Mobil station helps families achieve a future dream.''

Starting a college savings account through Upromise is simple and free by visiting and enrolling at www.upromise.com. Upromise also administers tax-deferred 529 savings plans so families can have their Upromise savings automatically invested, along with personal contributions.

To begin receiving contributions from ExxonMobil, register any credit card accepted by ExxonMobil and begin purchasing fuel from any of the nearly 15,000 Exxon- or Mobil-branded stations in the U.S.
