LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Apr 26, 2004--The U.S. Men`s National Team will face arch rival Mexico in an international soccer friendly on Wednesday, April 28th, and Fox Sports World will televise it live from the Cotton Bowl starting at 8:30 P.M. Eastern/5:30 P.M. Pacific Time. Though Mexico leads the series of encounters with team U.S.A., 28-10-10 since 1934, the U.S.A. has triumphed in five of the last seven meetings. The rivalry between the teams escalated following a 2-0 victory by the Americans in the round of 16 of the 2002 World Cup that advanced the Americans into the quarterfinals.
The U.S. recently recorded a 1-0 victory over Poland, and Mexico is also coming off an impressive performance having shutout Costa Rica 2-0 in front of a capacity crowd at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles.
Fox Sports World veteran anchor Max Bretos and Christopher Sullivan will announce the game from the Cotton Bowl. Chris Sullivan is a well-respected figure with U.S. Soccer, and is best known for being one of the first American internationals to break into the European First Divisions in Denmark and Germany. Chris was a member of the 1990 World Cup team, and finished his soccer career with MLS as a member of the San Jose Clash.
