With Valentine's Day just around the corner, it's time to begin contemplating the perfect gift. According to the results of a poll released this week, when it comes to Valentine's Day, chocolate and roses are out and nothing says romance like wireless technology. That's right, respondents to a recent online poll say 'tech is in' with 72 percent reporting that they'd prefer to receive the newest wireless gadget over a traditional gift like flowers or chocolate this Valentine's Day. Mike Foley is Executive Director of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group:
"There's no disputing the current popularity of wireless gadgets, consider that shipments of Bluetooth wireless technology doubled between May and November 2005, peaking at nearly ten million shipments a week. I think the poll just confirms that Americans really do have a love affair with wireless technology and it's not surprising that the trend is extending to Valentine's Day gifts."
And what ranked as the most romantic tech gift? The winner, with 57 percent of the vote, a Bluetooth enabled MP3 player preloaded with love songs.
