Online Survey Reveals Photos are More Important than Love Letters

Is a picture worth a thousand words?  A survey of more than 15,000 people from around the world by Yahoo! says yes.  Fifty-seven percent say their photos are more important than their love letters, and one out of four people say the loss of years of photos would be more upsetting than no one remembering their birthday. The survey was conducted in conjunction with Yahoo!'s online promotion called the Photomail Day in the Life event, running online on July 26th on Yahoo- dot- com. Andy Spillane from Yahoo explains:

"We know that photo's are extremely important in people's lives, and with Yahoo! Photomail we've made photo sharing by e-mail even easier than ever before.  Yahoo! Photomail Day in the Life is a global event that will transfer a portion of the Yahoo! front page into a slide show of photo's contributed directly from Yahoo! users around the world.  People are invited to submit their own photos live via Yahoo! Photomail to have these pictures posted right on the front page of Yahoo! -dot-com, the most visited sight on the internet, for all the world to see."

In the U.S. the event will run from nine-p-m Pacific Time on Monday, July 25th, to nine-p-m on Tuesday, July 26th, at Yahoo-dot-com.
