Electronic Gifts for Father's Day

Electronics are replacing the traditional gifts of shirts and ties for dear old dad and granddad on their special day. Jack Wayman, spokesperson for the Consumer Electronics Association, offers some suggestions:

"A high definition television system is the perfect gift for a dad who has everything. Perhaps the number one gift this year will be a digital camera or camcorder to record those family memories. A TV/DVD combination is ideal for dads den or office. A 100-channel digital satellite radio system would enhance his time in the car. For the outdoor dad consider a pair of walkie-talkies with a five-mile range, or replace his cell phone with one that has a built-in camera, internet capabilities or other features. And then there are high-tech watches that also give altitude, compass directions- even take digital photos."

Wayman says grandad would appreciate a talking alarm clock or wrist watch, a cordless telephone or a universal remote control both with extra large keys.
