As hazy, hot and humid weather takes over, more and more people herald the arrival of summer by ordering up a tall, cool glass of iced coffee rather than a hot cup of coffee. In fact, according to the National Coffee Association, more than two million people enjoy iced coffee daily. While making iced coffee at home is very similar to brewing hot coffee, there's some simple tips to keep in mind to ensure delicious and refreshing iced coffee every time. Ellen Walker, Product Development Manager for Dunkin' Donuts, shares their secrets for brewing iced coffee at home:
"For a full-flavor pot of iced coffee, Dunkin's top tip is to start with the highest quality fresh coffee beans, look for the label that says '100 percent Arabica beans,' then double the amount of ground coffee you would normally use to brew the hot coffee. And after brewing, add ice until the mixture doubles in size then you would add milk, cream or sugar to taste. For an added flavor boost, use flavored beans like French vanilla or hazelnut. "
