Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, a non-partisan group representing more than 300-hundred swift boat veterans who served with senator John Kerry in Vietnam, has announced the launch of an advertising campaign which it says answers the Senators call for truth.  Swift boat veterans Shelton White:

"Well, it was actually the TV ad that got the press interested.  For 35 years the press hasnt been interested in our story and with this television ad now theyre starting to pay attention."

Although the group includes most of the men who were on the missions in which Kerry received his medals, one criticism often heard is they werent actually on his boat.  Van Odell:

"Decided we were not on his boat is not to understand swift boats and they dont, these were very small boats, wed run along each other, wed could talk to each other from one to another. Just to think to say that we didnt serve with John Kerry cause we werent on his boat is like saying that Captain Benteen and Captain Reno could not talk about the Battle of Little Big Horn or didnt serve with George Armstrong Custer because they all werent on the same horse."
