With more than 150 million of us taking vitamins and other supplements to improve our health, consumers want to know that these products are safe.  Recently theres been some confusing news about vitamin E.   What does vitamin E do and is it safe?  Nutrition and vitamin expert Doctor Annette Dickinson, is with the Council for Responsible Nutrition:

Vitamin E is safe, it provides basic nutrition for every cell of your body.  It also has been shown in many studies to help reduce the risk of heart disease and some cancers and to improve immune function.  So its a vitamin that acts as an anti-oxidant, but has a wide range of benefits on a number of different conditions and we should not forget, of course, that it is a just basically an essential nutrient.

Doctor Dickinson says that vitamin E is a core nutrient necessary for good health and most Americans dont get enough of it from diet alone. For more information log on to, c-r-n-u-s-a-dot-org.
