Chocolate Tops Valentine's Day Gift Lists

Romance is in the air and now's the time to plan a special Valentine's Day celebration.  For many of us, that means getting a gift.  If you want your Valentine to be yours forever, opt for a diamond ring - Bride's Magazine predicts over 600 thousand couples will get engaged this Valentine's Day. Roses and perfume are okay, but scientists now say that the way to a girl's heart is through her stomach!  New medical evidence suggests that chocolate is loaded with a substance called Seratonin, which gives her a feeling of well-being.  More than 36 million heart-shaped boxes will be given as gifts this year, according to the Chocolate Manufacturer's Association.  But another red hot trend has emerged: chocolate liqueur. Tara Hunt from Godiva Chocolatiers says:

"Chocolate liqueur is delicious and decadent, it's perfect for Valentine's Day and a wonderful treat. Our sales are up on the dark, white and cappuccino liqueurs - we call it 'love in a bottle.'"

The Aztecs thought chocolate was an aphrodisiac.  While we know there's no scientific proof, it's just a trend people are enjoying.  Maybe that's why so many people are drinking Godiva Chocolate Martinis all year round - not just on Valentine's Day.
