Spring is just around the corner and once again, its time to think about your garden. April is National Gardening Month and while youre probably planning to work outside on the yard, dont forget about your house plants.
Most plants outgrow their containers over the course of a year so its a good idea to repot them annually. It keeps them happy and healthy by providing the room they need to grow and supplying new nutrients they need to thrive. Repotting a plant is quick and easy. Just choose a planter thats one size larger than your current one. Remove the plant; loosen and trim the roots a bit; nows also the time to divide your plant into extra ones if its grown too big. And use fresh potting soil like Miracle-Gro that includes the nutrients your plant needs. Thats it!
Here are some signs that your plant needs repotting: roots are densely wound inside the pot, or grow out of drainage holes. Bottom leaves turn yellow and drop off. Potting mix becomes faded and crusty.
