Infertility affects about six million American couples, approximately 10 percent of the reproductive age population. Now, there is a new technological advancement in fertility medication for women undergoing in vitro fertilization and ovulation induction that makes treatment more convenient and comfortable the Follistim(R) A-Q Cartridge for use only with Follistim Pentm. Follistim(R) A-Q Cartridge is the first FDA approved Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) treatment available in a pre-filled, pre-mixed solution, eliminating the need for patients to mix one or more vials of medication. Follistim Pen is the first and only pen delivery system in the U.S. that ensures precise and accurate delivery of the Follicle-Stimulating Hormone, Follistim(R) A-Q Cartridge.

Great news for women undergoing fertility treatment, a new pen device is now available that will make administering treatments easier. Previously, women had to mix one or more vials and measure their medication until now. The F-D-A recently approved the Follistim(R) A-Q Cartridge for use only with the Follistim Pentm, available as a prefilled, premixed solution delivered by a pen device that delivers accurate, individualized doses of a highly effective fertility medication. Doctor Samuel Pang of the Reproductive Science Center of Boston:

"The Follistim Pen is a device that provides pre-mixed medication in a cartridge, the patient dials the dose and then she injects herself so she avoids having to mix the medication and draw it up in a syringe before she has to inject herself."

Clinical studies have shown that self-injection with Follistim(R) A-Q Cartridge for use only with Follistim Pen is safe, convenient and well tolerated by women:

"Without exception, all of the patients who are enrolled in the trial really loved using this Follistim Pen device because it was so much more convenient and it did not hurt."

For more information, please contact your health care provider or visit follistim-dot-com f-o-l-l-i-s-t-i-m-dot-com or call 1-866-836-5633.

Follistim(R) A-Q Cartridge administered with Follistim Pen, delivers on average an 18 percent high amount of Follitropin Beta compared to lyophilized preparations administered by a conventional syringe and needle. The difference is due to the accurate dosing obtained with the Follistim Pen compared to a conventional syringe and needle.

Like all gonadotropins, Follistim(R) A-Q Cartridge is a potent substance capable of causing mild to severe side effects including Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS), with or without pulmonary or vascular complications. Treatment with Follistim(R) A-Q Cartridge may result in multiple gestations. Follistim(R) A-Q Cartridge should be used only by physicians who are experienced in infertility treatment and should advise their patients of treatment risks, including O-H-S-S and multiple births. Please refer to the package insert for a complete list of side effects.
