It's less than a month 'til that dreaded April 15th deadline. But taxpayers who do their homework may get "extra credit" on their federal income taxes this year. If you're paying for college or vocational school, you may be entitled to a number of tax breaks. Ken Gideon is chair of the American Bar Association's Section of Taxation:
"There are several different higher education tax deductions and credits available to students and their parents. Anyone paying for higher education is likely to find it financially rewarding to take the time to understand these tax breaks, sometimes you can claim more than one."
