NASCAR legend Richard Petty is helping to motivate a group of five racing fans to begin winning streaks of their own. The fans are members of Petty's Quitting Crew, part of the winner's circle quit-smoking program sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare.
In addition to medicinal nicotine products, Petty says the Quitting Crew gets personalized help from an online support program called Committed Quitters:
"In racing, a driver is only as good as his team. Smokers who want to quit are a lot more likely to succeed with a good team supporting them."
The car of driver Casey Mears includes Nicorette Fresh Mint as the first-ever NASCAR sponsor of a quit-smoking product; He'll help introduce the Quitting Crew:
"It's great to see how well-prepare these five people are for their quit attempts. I've learned how much support the products can provide and I'm looking forward to seeing them become smoke-free winners."
