As U.S. troops continue to take strides toward the stability of Iraq, U.S. Army leaders consider their health and overall safety a top priority to complete the mission.  Part of the care troops receive comes from members of the U.S. Army Dental Corps, including Lieutenant Colonel, James Houston, Commander of the five-o-second Dental Company. Before returning from Iraq in March, Colonel Houston provided much needed dental care to five-thousand coalition troops and local Iraqis.  Colonel Houston:

wed go and set up in the villages downtown with our tents and treat the local Iraqis who really had no infrastructure for healthcare.  What impressed me was how much they appreciated what we were doing for them.  I think we made a great difference.

Because of the rewarding work, the five-o-second Dental Company has done in Iraq, Colonel Houston is seeing as much as 70 percent of his team re-enlist in the U.S. Army.

Our company has set records for re-enlistment, even in the face of knowing that theyre going back.  Im highly complimented; not just me, but all the professional non-commissioned officers who make a difference and are preparing the soldiers for their deployment.
