Online College Bridge Contest Takes Winners to New York

MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Feb 5, 2004--If you play the world�s greatest mental sport, the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) has a deal for you�an all-expense paid trip to New York City.
College students are invited to compete in an online qualifying bridge game to be held at 1 p.m. EST Saturday, Feb. 28, on bridgebase.com. Zonal winners will win trips to the North American College Bridge Team Championships in New York City July 9 and 10.

Teams must consist of four players born in 1978 or later, attending the same school and currently enrolled in at least seven semester hours of either undergraduate or graduate student credit. Members of the winning team, in addition to the trip to New York City, will receive $500 scholarships.

Teams must register by Feb. 20 by contacting ACBL Education Department Assistant Manager Charlotte Blaiss at [email protected].

The event is sponsored by the ACBL Educational Foundation, a charitable trust fund established in 1987 that grants to promote bridge education.
