As the nation focuses on encouraging healthy lifestyles, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, the Coca-Cola Company and Kraft Foods have announced a new initiative to empower young people to make informed decisions about their physical, mental and social well-being. The three partners unveiled triple play, an after-school health and wellness program that will be offered at Boys and Girls Clubs across the U.S. Roxanne Spillett, President, Boys and Girls Clubs of America:
The Triple Play is about mind, body and soul. Its a Boys and Girls Club program it uses Boys and Girls Club methods. It engages kids in a fun way, so that they learn about nutrition. They learn how to make good decisions about what they eat. They learn to exercise and theyre motivated to exercise, but its also about character and leadership.
Triple play, supported by a combined five-year, 12 million dollar commitment from the Coca-Cola Company and Kraft Foods, is the first youth-focused program of its kind developed in collaboration with the Department of Health & Human Services.
