Three of Americas newest champions are coming to a breakfast table near you.  Today in Athens, Wheaties, The Breakfast of Champions, announced the release of new packages honoring record-breaking swimmer Michael Phelps, gymnastics champion Carly Patterson, and sprinter Justin Gatlin.  Swimmer Michael Phelps, who won eight medals and broke nine records at the 2004 Summer Olympics:

You know its an unbelievable thing to have and a great thing that Ive enjoyed.  Being able to be on the cover of a Wheaties box is an honor and its a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity Im glad I have it.

The soon-to-be-released 18-ounce packages will be available nationally beginning in mid-September, and continues Wheaties storied tradition of honoring great American champions dating back to Johnny Weismuller and Babe Didrickson in the 1930s.
