As the cost of health care education in the United States continues to rise, the U.S. Army offers qualified medical students the chance to graduate debt-free from medical school through the F. Edward Hbert Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Program.   Colonel John Holcomb, Commander, U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research:

I was the advisor for military medical students, and theyd already made the decision to have their medical school paid for by the military.  So they would come out of this process without debt.  Most of the guys in school were coming out with 150 to 200 thousand dollars in debt.  Thats a big deal.

The scholarship provides tuition for one- to four-years, and includes reimbursement for mandatory books and certain academic fees.  It also provides a monthly stipend of more than one thousand, two hundred dollars.  Recipients become army officers, working and training at state-of-the-art army health care facilities.  For more information visit healthcare-dot-goarmy-dot-com.
